Working on installations at Selfridges Atrium in Birmingham is always a thrilling experience for us. The challenge of suspending our creations from the glass roof requires a perfect balance of mathematical calculations and innovative design. Selecting the right materials is crucial for the success of the installation, especially with the strict weight restrictions in place.
This year, our theme was elegantly simple - round shapes in vibrant red. We meticulously threaded 1,00s of mirror die cut discs into 20 hanging red mirror discs, each boasting a generous 1-meter diameter and extending 3 meters in length. The striking visual impact of these mirrored discs reflecting light and color throughout the atrium was truly mesmerizing. It was a harmonious blend of artistry and engineering, creating a captivating focal point for all who passed through the space.
